Abstract

The common attitude towards traditional education promotes the opinion that visual arts education somehow represents a balance with the cognitive subjects. Observations in the field of practice have revealed that beyond that positive balancing function and the specific subject content visual arts education has the potential to concretely and sustainably contribute towards building social, emotional and cognitive competencies by using a holistic approach.
