Abstract
Es besteht die Forderung, dass jedes Kind digital kompetent die Schule verlassen sollte. In diesem Zusammenhang stellt sich die Frage, ob die zurzeit gültige Schulorganisation dem entsprechen kann oder ob es nicht vielmehr nötig wäre, anstelle auf ein Unterrichtsprinzip Medienerziehung zu vertrauen, einen Gegenstand „Digitale Medienbildung und Informatik“ zu etablieren. Zu klären gilt es weiters, ob durch die Fokussierung auf Medienbildung nicht informatische Inhalte zu wenig Berücksichtigung im Unterricht der Sekundarstufe I finden.
